Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
Getting it out of Florida isn't going to give you more options, I hate to tell you. Did you do a budget of any sort on all this? I ask simply because if it's anything like I'm imagining the $600... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
A person with towing insurance can't get your boat towed. So you know of people who can do it and just aren't willing to pay the price? You didn't know buying this boat was going to be very... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
None of them cover salt water towing for $100. Tow Boat US starts at $149 for that and Sea Tow starts at $169. Your point on salvage is a reminder. Your tow membership does not cover salvage. You... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
As neither has a silver plan, I'm not sure whether you have Sea Tow or Towboat US. Sea Tow's only lower plan than their Gold is a Lake Plan which covers, as the name implies, lakes only. Tow Boat US... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
Well, it's good they were open and honest so you could make a good judgment as to whether it was right for you or not. Abandoned boats are terribly expensive and problematic for marinas. Many of them... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
They would have given the boat away in exchange for assumption of responsibility for it. What was exchanged for the boat wasn't the money paid. It was more for the marina to pass the liability on to... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
No, they just want an insured tow company. That seems reasonable. This isn't him moving it himself, but hiring a tow company and they require the company be insured. Either of the companies I... |

Re: FL Residents/sailors: Need your help
Rest assured you are going to encounter the same rules and concerns in Annapolis. Marinas there want insurance too and the major tow and salvage companies are the same national companies. I don't... |
