Granny rails have a lot more uses than just a tether point. You use them as a solid handhold, brace against them when working around the mast, climb on them to reach higher up the mast, hang things... |

AKA "granny rails" (but as I just found out - be careful googling that phrase :nonono:) Had them on a couple of boats I've delivered and they are very handy. |
