Can't help you with the interface. The clutch is a mechanical release that completely frees the wheel from the pilot. You should be able to spin the wheel with it disengaged if you could do it... |

A Raymarine X5 wheel pilot would probably work fine for powering. Wouldn't reccomend for sailing unless your boat has a very light helm. Think the internal resistance of a standard tiller pilot... |
