I agree, and consider that both of the boats ahead of WO subsequently were damaged. As it happened, they both were able to continue... but what if they had not been able? Then WO might have "limped"... |

Well, I dunno about shame, but consider what a cruiser would do if their main blew out in that position... Were it me, I'd clean up the mess of tattered thousand dollar bills and continue on... |

RC, I sorta understand your POV, but to say that skipper needs to rely on "sound information coming to them" seems wrong to me. The duty of the skipper is to be sure that he has indeed got sound... |
