I will have to investigate if the ATF I'm using is suitable for PTFE tape I would usually use for this. But I still like the idea of tapping the existing plug instead of replacing it entirely. ... |

Thanks for the kind offer, but I believe I could manage that and I have the right lathe. It's an interesting idea and 1/4" NPT is quite doable. Gives me the best of both worlds, really, and leaves... |

Thanks for that link! It will come in handy. To answer your question, yes, it is likely a metric thread and does feature an O-ring. Of course I have a 21 mm socket but not a 22 mm! |
