Good argument for stern accessible life raft mounts too. I guess a molded transom pocket would be more secure than rail mounting.

Honestly, how many boats without a keel that fit the Rafiki's description are floating around near the yacht's last location?

And if the boat had survival suits, hydrostatic release deck mounted...

I think the comments on PLB vs. EPIRB ignores some reasonable interpretation of what we've been told:

A signal was received from not one but two PLB's. It sounds like the PLB failed to get a GPS...
