Once it's on a truck, the incremental cost to get it to the Kentucky Lakes and bypass the Mississippi all together would likely be worth the cost.

If the goal is really just transport to the east...

We've done the loop. The biggest limitation for most is from Hoppies Marina (just south of St. Louis to Kentucky lake). You need fuel range to cover that.

It' doable but not as easy as the Tenn-Tom route
