They were doing 20 knots with two reefs. Probably just need a table cloth to average 8 knots. Sounds good.

The catamaran in question was on a day sail from Newcastle. To the central coast apparently. Not implausible that they didn't do a pump out before leaving Newcastle.

Well a demasted mono pr a sunken cat are still sitting in the tank's designed orientation, a capsized multi isnt.

I Prefer multi's as well for most things. But nothing wrong with some constructive...

To be fair....

There were 3 multihulls out of 28 that were caught in the storm. statistically that's not really enough to tell us anything.

In big sea's with things washing around the hull it's not unimaginable that hose clamps fail.....The breather hoses and deck discharge hoses would now be underwater.

Yeh, a nicely setup cat with tethers and a safe way to move about from tramp to inside the hulls for resupply is much better than a life raft. But most of that need to be added on aftermarket which I...
