In my experience, the old ActiveCaptain was a great resource. I can not set up Garmin’s version on my tablet due to bandwidth limitations and see that as a major loss of a good tool.

I sailed out of that channel a few years ago and was warned of shoaling then with the recommendation to follow the charter boats.

From what I read, they ran hard aground, waves caused the boat to fill and eventually capsize. I saw nothing about a lost keel. Looking at the charts, it’s a very shallow and narrow channel.
