In my experience, the old ActiveCaptain was a great resource. I can not set up Garmin’s version on my tablet due to bandwidth limitations and see that as a major loss of a good tool.

Not sure if your comments are tongue in cheek but criticism of the young is as old as the written word. I well remember some of the bullets I dodged along the to being an old codger. All by luck.

From what I read, they ran hard aground, waves caused the boat to fill and eventually capsize. I saw nothing about a lost keel. Looking at the charts, it’s a very shallow and narrow channel.
