Just a guess but I think you waited too long before applying the Satin weave. You prolly have high ambient temps and the epoxy kicked off before you put the cloth down.

What grit are you using? I don't think you a wuss but a spinning disc set to your flesh should not do much damage...unless you are using a real course grit like down there below 60 grit. We use to...

She's a real beaut and that's because of your dedication. Maybe the next layer you should pile on thick the resin. Since you'll be insane with sanding anyway, you could use it as your fairing. ...

Knotty, how many layers is that, I've lost count. For what it's worth, for lapping cloth I've used dowels that tuck under the cloth to keep the last 3 or 4 inches of cloth from getting resin on it. ...

In the spirit of CF I will say that anyone who cannot see kevlar doesn't belong out there, no matter what kind of anchor. :)
