Yeah, I do agree. I keep paper because it's a no battery needed backup, just like I'll be carrying a set of reduction tables very specific to what ever cruising grounds I'm...

Oh, and also calculator scripts, as well. You can have all the necessary calculators installed on a laptop if you want, also free.

By the way, I did just find all 6 volumes of the Sight Reduction Tables in PDF Format on a US Gov. .mil server portal for free download

My opinion is that paper charts won't ever be totally obsolete....

They don't require batteries or power to use. You can read them by candlelight even, if necessary, or a kerosene or oil lamp. ...
