Any chafe is going to be minimal. The sail isn't loaded all the time. The shackle has a large bearing surface, and stainless is pretty chafe resistant. If you are worried or you are sailing non stop... |

I've used a shackle like this many times. Never seen any unusual wear. A bigger worry is unfairly loading the swage If it's bending the wire at very close to the swage, and fatigue. Sent from my... |
