I like the idea of an annual change in preference to hours based change. But, with only 10% as much sulphur in todays diesel, is the corrosion factor as significant as it used to be? |

As A64 says, and have a look at the manuals. Clearly written for the litigation processes that exist in some countries with some big print for marketing. Obeying the instructions like a robot is OK... |

Can't see anything wrong with that. OTOH if you were motorsailing days on end with a good engine, then 400hrs would work well. An old engine with blow-back - more frequently. |

Depends on usage. Some long haul trucks on easy runs change every 400 hours while the same truck with heavy loads & steep grades it might be 200hours. One critical thing is to see the engine oil... |
