Re: Green Build-up on Wiring
Thanks for the many tips. The batteries don't vent to this area but it's located immediately behind the anchor locker (which makes sense as these are the cables to power the windlass) so I expect... |

Re: Green Build-up on Wiring
Thanks - do you know of any special solution/aerosol that can be sprayed onto the corrosion to dissolve it safely or is it a case of scrubbing/sanding it off? |

Thanks for the tips! I'll give it a clean with WD-40 + a toothbrush when I'm back at the boat next weekend and then order some Corrosion X to coat it with properly prior to the summer. ... |

Windlass Corrosion
I took a look in my anchor locker (which is accessed from inside the front cabin rather than on deck so I don't do it that often) and saw what appears to be quite a bit of corrosion on the underside... |

Lewmar V4 Windlass Maintenance
My 4 year old Lewmar V4 Windlass (gypsy & drum) no longer free-falls when I release the manual brake with a winch handle as it should. I'm guessing it needs some re-greasing. Does anyone have any... |

Re: Best Mounting for Hydraulic Autopilot Arm
Thanks for all the additional comments! The holes in the mounting plate are 11mm - and currently I am using 4 x 10mm bolts so I guess I could look for 7/16" bolts which are closer to 11mm although... |

Re: Best Mounting for Hydraulic Autopilot Arm
I've just got back to the boat and will do this job over the next week as time permits. One question, probably dumb, but worth asking - when you say: "I personally would overbore the holes, coat... |

Re: Beneteau Oceanis Electrical Panel - Faults?
How did you manage to open the inspection ports? Did you have a special tool? Mine seem super-tight and look as if they need a very large "+" shaped tool to unscrew them... |

Re: Best Mounting for Hydraulic Autopilot Arm

Re: Best Mounting for Hydraulic Autopilot Arm
Thanks for the comments - I guess I could also just move it 20-35mm further forwards (towards the silver a/c pipe) and just drill new holes - the current bolts are 75mm apart. Are the stainless... |
