Re: Dry Tortugas or Bahamas

You get to meet more friends in the Dry Tortugas on your first day there. Within the first hour I met 3 nice National Park Service police who came out to my boat to greet me.

Four hours later 3...

Re: At Boat in Marathon, Couple Questions

I'm in total agreement with the SSB / Chris Parker / Ham radio. Lots of nets on the radio, great information, always in contact with someone if you need to be. With the HF you can download weather...

Re: How much does it cost to live aboard while cruising the Caribbean Islands ?

NO it's not...

If you have enough to buy radar, you will have one. If you have enough for a great auto pilot, you will have one. When you have saved enough for a great chart plotter, you will buy...

Perhaps some of the folks were successful in their dreams-

They are on a boat and enjoying life- not sitting here on the internet getting---

Re: Spreader Lights! Whatcha think??

Re: How Serious the CG?

If you never make one of them mad, it should not be a problem. But if you cross one, and he can find nothing else wrong-

They, like everyone else, are short handed. I've been boarded and they...

Re: Saint Petersburg to The Florida Keys

I've sailed the route many times. I would suggest exiting the Passage Key channel and turning left. Not much more of a schedule other than that. You have so darn many great places to drop the hook...

Re: Part 1 of the dream is down!

Congrats and good luck! I made the big jump 12 years ago- still have the same boat. Would not trade her for anything. I know every inch of her, good and bad. We are old friends now and have...

Re: Perkins 4-108 diesel

The first thing you should buy is a shop manual. I used my manual a lot when I still owned the 4-108. They are very easy to fix, parts readily available and the shop manual will answer all of your...

Re: Wind Generator (My Logic & Questions)

I put on both.

One 220 watt panel and a Rutland 913.

I always have cold beer.

Now I get to worry about other things, not how many electrons I have left.

Re: Cruisers yacht stuck on Gulfport beach in 4 feet of sand

I hope nobody needs it, but it would be nice to line up some donated legal services for the rescue crew.

Odds are that when Jay gets back to his boat he will have a number of claims of missing or...

I guess the cops just got tired...

Where is your marina/boat? We can relocate him next to you and you can supervise...
