I do not have an autopilot as such ,she is a yawl you sail her like a sloop rig and the then trim the mizzen sail to steer. Never been an autopilot on her .Greg

I only wish you would stop defending fc as with a statement like this you have no or little knowedge of this type of construction as there is no gravel used in the mix

Yes stainless steel mesh can be and was used by some builders.

If you do a search on this in the archives Gordmay had an article on this subjuct titled, Will gelcoat adhere to epoxy. Was very interesting.

I use a needle gun and it has always worked very well.I have done a same repair on a boat and that was 3 years ago with no problems.Treat with por15 then use expoxy.

Phosphoric acid has an appetite for calcium,lime and rust and will cause the hull to degenerate.

Epoxy sticks to ferro like s$!t to a blanket as long as it is sound,clean and dry,will be hard wearing and not let if done properly.As the repair is the capping and very thin i would just do the...

We used laminate panel which is 2.7mm thick and comes in 8x4 sheet,you can get all types of edges,boarders and joiners.Very eazy to clean and will not rot.

49ft Walu 1/2" of stainless steel mesh layers with 1/8" on outside only and trowled to the mesh on the inside gives 5/8",the only thing in her bilge is some dust
