Re: Lost forward propulsion

I suspect looking at the oil removed-which shows signs of overheating-that there has been unnoticed slippage for some time and that either/or/both ahead clutch surface on the cone or gear are worn...

Re: Halvorsen Freya 42 in Corten Steel

Just for information. The Aries fitted is not oversize, it is merely one of the very early models known I think as the Aries 2, however it is exceptionally strong and heavy but provides no additonal...

Re: Air X windgenerator charging problems

I now use a Superwind, and to be honest it is great, better in every way except its looks, unfortunately you pay handsomely. One option with the Air-(if you are pretty handy) is to remove the...

Re: Air X windgenerator charging problems

is the red light on when it is running? Is your onboard current measuring device functioning correctly, does the turbine spin up to speed? is there a change in turbine speed between loaded and open...

Re: A Wind Generator Review

I have owned 2 Air 403 turbines, and did 2 Atlantic crossings with them but in the end the lack of support from SWWP when requiring internal regulator parts in the UK caused me to look elsewhere. I...

Re: Generator off the main engine possible?

Interesting paper. I absolutely agree with what you say above, which is why I would go with an automated system, and if manual sync was such a massive concern you could even have a split bus...

Re: Generator off the main engine possible?

Granted with that amount of power there will be engineer officers on board, however I really see no reason not to be using a similar design of software driven switchboard with the 300kw set up...
