hi bobmoor,
my way was the following:
i createt virtual machine with xubuntu.
the i installed the Narcissus SDK for the Beagleboard XM.
i installed the cmake and cmake gui
then cross-compiled...

hi Alu,
if you unzip the wxGTK package , you have a folder. You have to copy the content of the folder ( there are 4 folders bin,include,lib and share inside) .
copy not the folder wxWidget to /usr...

do you need linux live CD or linux machine to copy the complete Image with DD

dd if=/PathToTheImage/theImage of=/dev/sda

the Image is source file...

last week 2 month after my order ,i receiving the Pandaboard ES. I have now OpenCpn on it to. the Pandaboard is faster, bat the Beagleboard with Angstrom Distribution is fast enogh.

hi,
1.ts-7400 has no graphic on board
2. the Ram is to small
3. no X-Server available( you have to compile it self)
4. the processor ist to slow for good performance.

so it works also good with CM93 charts. only the ENC S57 is a bit slower.
I can upload the image or the binarys(including the libs). also zygrib is running.
bat use the pandaboard it cost...

narcissus works hmm so.. you have seen it on the video. and the chart import(S57) crashes all time. bat for narzissus you have to compile some librarys by self.

i compiled the tinyxml wxwidgets...

the MEMCAche option brings better performance. i will running the simulator the next night from Philadelphia to washington. we will see.
at the moment i build on the beagleboard complete...

i ordered this LVDS add on and the monitor in december. if i received it, i will test and tell you the results.

I have also ready now running opencpn with vector charts, bat the peroformance...

no i am not the developer of the beagleboard. but i am big fan !
all can be work also with the pandaboard . the panda has the same CPU
and more memory. i think BeagleBoard XM is has all...

it works with the rastercharts very well. bat i think i have a problem with the memory management. the memory goes up if i download big files , i build new filesystem with swap partition. ...
