For the last few days I can no longer mark this forum as read, the entries continue to be high lighted. It has been my practice for years to read the new (high lighted) items and then mark the forum...

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.718

Cheeky request. I have installed AOCPN on my Hudl 2 and it runs (can't remember which beta but not important). Bought a 32Mb sd card and loaded CM93 on it. IF I go to Tools, Charts I don't know the...

Forum display

If you have noticed that the forum page display has changed in the last day or two and the select last post function was flaky, check your hosts file. If you added a line "127.0.0.1...

Re: Has someone updated software?

Janey H and Msponer
The hosts file entry was my problem. Deleted the line referencing cdn and all well. I am using FF and I checked with Chrome both on Win 7 which was also bad. Perhaps it would be...

Re: OCPN support VHF DSC Position NMEA sentences?

RD
I use NMEA MTK checksum calculator (https://www.hhhh.org/wiml/proj/nmeaxor.html) which works for me. Make sure you trim the sentence as indicated.

Re: Autopilot Sensing Devices - CC2541 SensorTag Development Kit

My proposed autopilot uses an Arduino to interface from the PC to the wind vane input to a very old Autohelm (starboard on, port on and off). This includes the electronics and motor to operate the...

Re: 12vdc Marine Computers

It probaly is obsolete but does everything I need. It can drive the reed relays directly with suitable overswing diodes and the input is to the old Autohelm windvane input. The Arduino parses the two...

BoatAlexandra
It is a Duemilanova with my own relay card mounted above. I really must do a bit more coding but really I have done very little with it. Nice to see all the interest though.

Re: 12vdc Marine Computers

I seem to have provoked lots of interesting comments which I did not really anticipate! Thanks to everyone. In my dotage I confine my sailing mostly to the Solent and a lot of it is motorsailing. The...

Re: 12vdc Marine Computers

Mattkab
I have been playing with the idea of using an Arduino to control an autopilot from Open CPN. Rather than use a compass to provide the heading info I thought to use trackangle from RMC which...

Re: Slow Page Loading

Just tried FF29 again and it's as fast as Chrome now so some more changes have been made I think. I'm still running with the Hosts file change and I'll leave that for now. Thanks to all and...

Re: Slow Page Loading

I inadvertently let Firefox update to FF29 this am but the site is still too slow for me but it's quite snappy with Chrome so I'll continue using that for the forum. It's no trouble but it's a shame...

Re: Slow Page Loading

Does FrankZ's post below mean it has been sorted or is it a plea for it to be sorted? There was an extended down time for the site earlier and it may be that was to allow some software mods....

I think I understand some of the reasons expounded above but for now I'll stick with FF28 and use Chrome for this site.

I have now switched to Chrome to view this forum and it is fine speedwise. I still use FF for general browsing and I don't have the problem on other sites. I don't know if it is due to FF updates or...

Slow Page Loading

For the last couple of weeks forum pages have been very slow to load or refresh. Is this another symptom of all the ads or has something else changed?

Re: Viewing in the cockpit
