You should always ask for advice before starting up the power tools. That said you should have cut and spliced the wire. The manufacturers do not like there nice factory plugs getting cut off but...

Add a Raystar 125 and wire it as a NMEA antenna....

Add a Raystar 125 and wire it as a NMEA antenna. The 125 comes with directions to wire it as a Seatalk or NMEA antenna.
