My understanding is that:

The spread of the beam can be thought of as a cone. The spread of the cone has to be evenly distributed to get a good reading. The sonar depth is what limits the distance...

Doesn't help with the other issues. There maybe cases where a single giant panel is preferable hardly a one size fits all solution.

I don't see anyone else mentioning this so I will. The Canadian solar panels have such large outputs not necessarily due to efficiency but physical size.

It's possible that more smaller panels...

Couldn’t get pas the pop up ad. 550 Watts is alot. I was looking at what I thought were large panels at 440 watts.
