I don’t think you have any idea what you are talking about. So please do not muddy the waters with conjecture. Thanks.

Electric on 1977 Irwin 52, need advice.

The plan is to have two banks: AGM Starter, Lithium house. I have a good idea about how to charge those systems, but from what you see in this photo, what would you start doing here?

Thanks!

Re: anchor wash down and autopilot

You must have been reading my mind. The inspiration for this idea did come from watching a 130ft ketch leaving the dock from Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua. I thought the anchor wash down was...

Re: anchor wash down and autopilot

I was thinking of using the 300 gallons of fresh water via water maker more useful by having the fresh water wash down forward near anchor. Kill two birds with one stone, good idea or no?

What do you all think, is an anchor wash down needed? Boat is on hard and I can do it now. How many times do you think I’ll say, ‘I wish I had installed’?

Also, which Autopilot manufacturer do...

This Ideal windlass came with the boat, which is a 1977 Irwin 52, 45-50k pounds or so.

Is this for rope only or can it be used for chain, too? Since the ground tackle was all chain, I am curious...
