This is called Necessity and is covered by' amongst other Maritime LAw; the York-Antwerp Rules. I used to teach them at degree and professional level....

That stuff is definitely out there.
The Captain of any vessel has the right to push containers and any cargo overboard in an emergency out of 'Necessity'.

That's a good question which I cannot answer.
I think it may be engine oil.
But I will have to check the levels of both.

I owned a CS 27 for a long time. Most likely the keel is cast iron. Test with a magnet.

Be careful.
I think Tolulene is more likely to dissolve your lungs first.
Respirator especially in heated confined spaces.

Bleed screw - Rudder

Recently hauled/Recently returned boat to water.
In haul in rush- forgot to replace/screw in the small bleed screw underside of rudder.
Boat is a CS 33'

I will check that out later on over the weekend.
I tried a proprietary product called something like ' Oil Off' (?) ...it was I think orange coloured and smelt of orange oil.......
