I had some cooling woes and it appears I just keep working myself stern replacing items. It started when one of the bowman endcaps sprung a leak on my Perkins 4.108. After replacing it I noticed on...

Re: Replacing old wet exhaust hose.

Re: Replacing old wet exhaust hose.

Re: The 'Spartan' Cruiser . . .

Bumping this up to the top. Wondering if there is a better boat out there is the goal is:

Trailerable
Racer
Fun/comfortable to day sail

Re: Hose Clamps

That's fascinating but I suspect not ABYC certified. And not reuseable? Not sure it's something I would want to deal with in remote areas.

Pretty neat for sure.

Re: Hose Clamps

Hmmm I wonder if something else is the matter then. I hada tbolt and a standard AWAB clamp and it was leaking. Then I cranked it down more and it was leaking less. Then I cranked it down even more...

Removing fiberglass elbow from exhaust routing - yay or nay?

Recently swapped exhaust mixing elbows which resulted in a mix match of exhaust hose diameters. I'd like to replace everything with a single 2" VHT silicone hose but wanted to confirm I am not...

How would you proceed with this exhaust hose issue?

I just replaced the cast iron mixing elbow on my Perkins 4.108. Now I appear to have a mix mash of sizing and since this high temp silicone hose isn't exactly cheap I am looking for some feedback.

Re: South Florida boats - How often are you cleaning your bottom / painting?

You're a pro and I've seen your posts on my research. What are you thoughts on monthly/bi monthly cleanings on coating...

Re: South Florida boats - How often are you cleaning your bottom / painting?

Thanks. The divers are the ones really pushing for 2 weeks and I always try to push back. We did 2 coats as well. Feels like there are two trains of thought where if you keep it clean it lasts longer...

South Florida boats - How often are you cleaning your bottom / painting?

Long story short, my Dad passed away in 2021 and I am taking care of the boat now. Between 2010-2021 we always painted the bottom every 2 years. The boat definitely got more use when he was around...

Re: Victron 24v to 12v converter or dc dc charger?

Would I need 2 chargers for the starter and LA house battery?

The LA house battery wouldn't really discharge or charge right? If it was getting fed 13.3 volts or whatever from the LFP bank you...
