This map shows the chains that Australia accesses. You will see that the blue chain is what op is mainly using. Due North from SE coast is a long way to red...

As an Australian east coast user, dishy may need repositioning south due lack of birds to the North yet.

Sinking of SY Asia in Nov 2019 (referred to in a post above) was disturbing. A 2009 29M Steel yacht built by a an experienced NZ steel hull builder.

I would consult a structural engineer before removing a compression post or altering an arch or installing a beam supporting a mast.

Thermal linear expansion of alloy mast acting on deck or chainplates?


Way to check would be to loosen off the backstay as the backstay to forestay would form the bowstring.
