Charter runs Thurs - Thurs and yeah - northward seems to be the focus if only for any number of easy exits off the Inner Channel.

So in the context of choosing a night's protection ... Sailing...

Seems we also strike out with other local options so far. Spoke with Allen - he chuckled and said no one's ever asked for a pre-guide before.

Moorings says they really are not set up to talk to us...

How much protection afforded by Belize reef

When the forecast for off shore (Gulf of Honduras) is:

.WED NIGHT...NE to E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 8 to 10 ft in N
swell.

Wondering what can be expected near shore and how in-reef anchorage...

I think i have it now -- was being thrown off by expecting text or something in the Chart Status Bar -- that was blank until i zoomed in enough. Looking forward to running this while on the boat...

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten to the point i have without that resource. If I've missed something that covers my described symptoms I'd very much welcome the pointer.

I used the downloader plugin to pull NOAA's Upper Mississippi ENC charts. Stored in /Documents/Charts/ -- am using the production release (not insider ring) of Win10.

The expected directory had been there since my original attempt -- and i had tried the Scan & Update ops. This time i removed the directory and readded it. The Scan & Update window clearly stepped...

I've just installed fresh 4.8 and downloaded a handful of NOAA ENC charts. OpenCPN's 'Show Local Files' shows they are present - GPS is showing my location on the 'placeholder' chart but zooming...
