Looking for FICO traveller stops

189203

As you can see I broke a couple of these stops. I’ve tried to replace them with 19 mm equivalents but it seems modern 19 mm track is thinner in depth so they won’t fit my old track.

I...

My question is, is this normal? My filter mounts...

Unhappy NMEA0183 cable required

I would like to connect my Camino AIS to my Furuno radar via the NMEA ports. Although I can purchase the right cable for the Furuno, it is an outrageous price.

I don't seem to be able to find the...

Re: How to clean out a crankcase

Thanks mate, I’ll look for that type of filter. And I’ll try another flush with diesel before I put new oil in to start.

Absolute cleanliness isn’t easy on a boat on a mooring, we are trying our...

Re: How to clean out a crankcase

You are correct. 5 cyl air cooled diesel. What you don’t see are the cylinder bores, they are all seperate on this type of engine.

I have replaced the pistons, pins, rings and bores. I have had...

Re: How to clean out a crankcase

First up I believe only the pistons caused the seizure. Three of them showed signs of scuffing on the skirts in the crankpin area, one was so bad that the rings were partially welded in. The bores...

Re: How to clean out a crankcase

I take your point about the running in. As for the flushing, do I use fresh new oil each time? That’s a lot of oil at 8litres a fill. Can I do the flush with diesel, including running the engine...

How to clean out a crankcase

Restoring my diesel after having seized her I have a significant amount of rust particles that have made their way into the crankcase, despite precautions taken. I have sprayed a good deal of diesel...

Leaking hatches

I have a set of Lewmar hatches that are nearly all leaking.
For a long time I thought it was leakage below the bottom frame of the hatches, and I tried to remove one of the hatches only to find...
