The screen damage is not caused by lightning. This is a LCD screen failure. This can be a result of the screen being physically damaged or moisture.

A lightning hit, if reported, dramatically...

Interesting post. I was cleaning out a sink drain a few weeks ago and thought it was silly that all the above waterline thru-hole drains had valves. Not so silly!

I have never ran into a grumpy bridge tender myself in South Florida but I hear "arguments" on the radio, mostly when a boat is late for a bridge and the tender has too much traffic to hold it.
