I would go with the Bad Elf. I have a Garmin GLO which works fine with the iPad and iPhone but it does NOT connect to a 2015 MacBook Pro.

We've owned a dock at Anchorage Marina in Baltimore, MD, for almost 10 years.
Advantages -
1. We are now more than breaking even on purchase price vs. rental
2. Our marina is a coop, so we have a...

Re: New Prop for Alberg 35

I had this thought too about the two bladed prop but I have a Yanmar 3gm30F and the engine manual says to leave the transmission in neutral while sailing, so presumably the prop would free wheel and...

Re: Let's talk deck paint...

I want to paint the deck of my Alberg 35, so I'm following this closely. I have the same issue with some exposed areas..some hairline cracks... wondering how to estimate how much paint?

Re: Cruising Advice for a Widower

I think the issue is less about boat size etc. than your ability to be alone. I singlehand an Alberg 35 that isn't particularly set up for it, and you can certainly sail a boat every more easily with...

Re: Need Handheld VHF recommend

I've had the Standard Horizon I think it's 800 or 850 for a few years. Works great, provides GPS and speed.

I've had a boat in Baltimore at Anchorage Marina (https://www.anchoragemarina.com) for the last eight years. I don't live aboard but I stay on the boat for a few days most weeks. I think you'd like...

Re: Yanmar 3gm30f rpm recomendations

My 3gm30F has 700 hours. I change the oil and fuel filters regularly and the air filter. It will idle past 3600 but I don't push it past that. It easily drives the boat to hull speed about 2800 rpm....

Re: Advice on handling marina damage with other boat

Definitely contact your insurance and let them sort it out. Don't fix it yourself; that's a route to becoming responsible for the whole thing.

A few years ago, a powerboat crashed into the stern...
