Well, I'm not a developer so I do not dare to guess. In my role as product manager I have done several guesses like this and they are in most cases wrong;)

Yes, there are some bugs. Did you notice that if you loaded rastercharts and vectorcharts and changed back and forth, the grey areas are gone in the vector charts aswell. I used that as a workaround....

The field test went very well. OpenCPN on my cubietruck worked very well during my week in the archipelago outside Stockholm, Sweden.

The only problem is that the monitor was more or less useless...

I followed the instructions and did nothing extra.
The instructions had some minor issues, like wrong path when running cd or cp.

Where did you get stucked?

I would like to have the opportunity to remap the keys. For Instance my mini waterproof bluetooth keyboard does not have a F11 button. So changing back and forth fullscreen requires another keyboard....

I use standard raspbian without any special config at all, excpet the one mentioned in this thread.
I think your SD card is broken, I had one broken SD card in the RPI behaved very strange...

Agree, a standard PC needs to much power. A cubieboard3 is an ARM based lowconsumtion computer like the Raspberry PI but with better CPU and some more features.
