As a mechanic i see lots of engines made in china such as rubbish bmw car engines and china german engines from opel all are rubbis compared to made in germany engines .all the china made...

if the engine was running well before the lay up water may have entered through the elbow and rusted the cylinders
.or when recent start up the engine perhaps hard to start, pumped the cooling...

hi i looked up jaycar mppt controllers . I do not believe they are mppt the Chinese have a habit of exagerateing no make that outright liying about charge controllers . I suspect you have a pwm...

hi
mppt controllers do not like over voltage so you need to match the controller to the panel max voltage .that done ebay is a great source of cheap controllers i bought a fengsun which is a copy...
