You can avoid VAT (and import taxes) for the boat and your cars if you import them when taking up residency. You cannot do it afterwards. When you take up residency you need to fill out a declaration...

Yep. Currently getting the top of my engine rebuilt. New heat exchanger, new valves etc.

Will be moving to Rosas in Spain this summer.

I would have thought that if a chute was deployed off the bow in 60+ knots of wind, then the boat would be still be going backwards at 15+ knots. Obviously not good at all and a guarantee to pitch...

Yes.

That is why I would only ever want a boat with a keel before the rudder so that if I run over a log, the rudder stays intact.

Similarly, I don't want to have a rope wrapped around the prop...

I could easily lose 2.5 tonnes by emptying the water and fuel tanks. And then another 13 tonnes by taking out the lead insert in the keel.......

That lead insert probably weighs as much as some...
