Re: Broker refuses to put sea trial as purchase condition

I have bought ten sailboats, all through UK based brokers. Sea trial and Survey are perfectly normal. If you find any defect through that process you can pull out and have deposit returned. A 10%...

Re: Get radical by getting simple: a 32kWh LFP house energy system

What's the model of 12V converter please? How efficient is it? Just comparing it to Victron 48-12 converter.

The idea of going LFP to 240/120V I like. Are you going to run your cooking off...

re: Merged LiFeYPO4 1000Ah Winston prismatic cells and all electric galley...

175135

Using a chart like the one attached, or doing my own test gives a fairly accurate soc with LFP surely.

I’m 24v but my v-max coincides with your figure but I am starting v-min at 12.6v...

re: Merged LiFeYPO4 1000Ah Winston prismatic cells and all electric galley...

One question, it was suggested to me to run my LFP between 25 and 80% for maximum life. What made you decide upon 50-90 (if I have got that right?)

re: Merged LiFeYPO4 1000Ah Winston prismatic cells and all electric galley...

I don’t think it would be good value now given your investment but we have a diesel fired hot water boiler with a heat exchanger. It works like a combo boiler now, ten minutes and we have unlimited...

re: Merged LiFeYPO4 1000Ah Winston prismatic cells and all electric galley...

Do you know the BTU of each unit? We have 5 units, but the most power is drawn by the water pump which draws about 1kw on its own.

I’m just about to fit LFP and would like to run a single aircon...

Re: Realistic non-bs comparison of lithium to lead

For an electric boat i think you would be mad not to choose Lifepo4. Charge time... Charge rate and charge efficiency.

I blogged my reasons for lifepo4 here...

Re: B&G forward scan

@Frankly - thanks for taking the time to share that. It's helpful - although I did 'buy' the marketing version :)

One thing they seem pretty keen on is making sure the transducer is at the correct...

Re: B&G forward scan

Pleased its not just me then! Has anyone solved these problems? I've just installed a Vulcan 7FS and a Forward Scan transducer. It's output is totally random, sometimes the depth shown is 'about...

Re: How awesome can a 750Ah Lithium + 1-2kW solar boat be?

So, in my case it's a more complicated install not simpler. Couple of points for you to consider, but each to their own.
- My Multi is wired as designed. Therefore there is a 240V input from Shore...

Re: Size of Battery Charger

My only comment would be that if you aren't going to upgrade your charging capacity then don't spend money on the Lifeline batteries. I spent a long while thinking over a similar problem. At the end...
