Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Rick,
I'll follow the link a little later. I just finished a very long post to the last thread (where I just saw this). My wife just wandered through (honey-do list in hand) and said, "Are you...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Rick,
Most of the screenshots I used were related to the specific problem of Windows disabling a WIFI connection when a wired connection is activated. That is probably best addressed in another...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Rick,
I was pretty sure you would chime in at some point if I mentioned a problem with the manual.

I'll be glad to help but I'm at a bit of a disadvantage since I'm not sure what the...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

I'm really glad that the problem is resolved. I could not have done it without Warren (Wholybee) pointing out the correct value from his settings.

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Were still missing each other (just barely). I need you to put the 192.168.1.255 in the UDP connection on OpenCPN in place of the 192.168.43.152.x.x

On a much lighter note: the ping command in...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Jedi, the radar is working properly. The problem we are trying to fix is on the wireless connection to other devices.

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Franziska, I think you misread my earlier post. Please try the connection with 192.168.1.255

That will (according to the manual) cause the UDP message to be sent to the network broadcast...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Before we get off track... When you ran the ping command was the Ethernet cable active?

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

The OpenCPN manual is less than clear but I believe you are right. It appears that the address field in a UDP output connection is the destination for the UDP packet, not the source.

IF that is...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

This reminds me of my IBM mainframe days. The developers for the operating system were based in Germany and England. The five-hour time difference sometimes made communication a challenge.

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

It won't help but it won't hurt either. UEFI is only in play while you are booting.

The first setting should stay off just like you have it.

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

I double check before I make a mistake. Imagine how many times I have to check to actually get it right!

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

In post #6 you show the ipconfig output when your radar is disconnected and the WIFI is working. Your computer has an address of 192.168.1.225. Your router is 192.168.1.1. Since your phones connect...

Re: Still trouble running NMEA data stream and Radar in parallel. Any help?

Franziska,
I am a Windows networking expert.

I think you are on the right track. Windows 10 (by default) disables WIFI connections when you plug in a wired (Ethernet) connection. They ASSUME...

Re: Send to peer not working on RPI4

I'm not sure if I will be of any help. I've not tested this function since it was in Alpha, but I seem to recall that you need to enter a PIN on one (don't remember which end) of the peers to verify...

Re: House Batt?

As I understand it, you have at least two batteries, your outboard started fine, but nothing else had power. That tells me that either your house battery is dead or the house battery is not...

Re: Another one: aground at ponce inlet and rescued

This was the first inlet I ever navigated fifty-odd years ago. It was dangerous then and has not gotten any better. It is not to be trifled with.

Horses for courses.

Now, I don't know if we scared the OP off (he's been missing since the first post), if he was a troll, or assuming if it is a legitimate question, where the OP is based and...

Re: Bare feet on board

I tried them for a short time (as a compromise) on my boat. They are a great compromise. I could catch the sole of the shoe under a fitting, trip, and smash my toe against it at the same time....
