Re: Getting in and out of my pen with a full keel sailboat.

pcmm and rls8r have nailed it...My ship is a 10.5 ton steel long keeled cutter which I sail singlehanded.
To give yourself steerage way while in the pen, gun the engine while in reverse and...

Re: What made Pilot Cutter so fast? Just rumors?

Re: GPS via USB to Samsung A8 tablet

Re: Dewatering a small space

Try babies' diapers, especially useful if there's oil in the water. Get the 'toddler' size, cut the wings off. Leave them there for a while, they also stop the water swilling around.

Unlike...

For anyone interested; have a read of 'Seaworthiness, the Forgotten Factor' by CA Marchaj - brilliant and accessible exposition of the interplay of all factors influencing stability and sailability.

Re: Stolen ballast, how important is it really?

I owned a Lyle Hess designed 25' sistership to Lyn and Larry Pardey's 'Serrafyn' for close to thirty years. When I bought her near newly built, in my inexperience I couldn't work out why the very...
