Sewing, tacking and Reefing - an amazing "threefer" in the arena of boat name puns although people are going to talk.

I once saw a big power boat shared by two doctors, one a phyc. and one a gyn. "Heads and Tails" was her name.

We have friends with a boat that took over 2 years to get the Coast Guard to approve - and finally took a lawyer:

"Honky Voodoo" which means: "White Magic".

This one was in my local marina

There was a boat in my local marina called "The Office". You could then say "I'll be at The Office" when you were goofing off to work on the boat.

My personal favorite was "Crack-o-noon", followed by "Sails Call".

Best pairing:
Yacht - Kumquat May
Tender - Kumquat Mite

Pun that took me the longest to get:
Nauty Lass

Best name with a story behind it (big power boat)
Yes Dear

Our boats name is TnA

It's a great conversation starter, people look at it then me then my wife, I introduce our selves as Tom and Annie and I say "What did ya think it stood for?"

Actually thought the USCG would have an issue but the folks on the phone thought it was funny. Only problem so far is that people on the radio don't believe me even though it is easy to pronounce. I find myself saying "Tango, November, Alpha" and them saying "that's what i thought"

I've found it an excellent way to discover who has a sense of humor. So far the folks in the DR have number one spot, TnA in Spanish is TnA.

Nice add, Jack. For those who don't want to take the time to puzzle these out:

Kumquat May = Come what may
Kumquat Mite = Come what might
Nauty Lass = Naughty lass and Nautilus

Yes Dear = self-explanatory

Of course, I'm just a boatless... well... yachtless sole (always have been amongst the "non" yachties in my home town).

Anyhow, you are inspiring me more. As I already wrote, should I ever get a real boat (yacht) where I would need a dingy or runabout or tender... these are my names...

Mothership: Running Scared
Tender: Running Loose
Waverunners: Running Around 1, Running Around 2
Rowboat: Running Naked

(don't know if the USCG would like that! But "naked" meaning no power! )

Another

A water taxi that takes students from various Gulf Island to the high school at Ganges is called Scholarship.

Another is called The Graduate, but that does not have the same tone.

Wouldn't that be a psychiatrist and a proctologist?

Two married pediatricians have a boat here called "Sea Section". There is another one called "Skin Dock". He's not a doctor but he frequently hits (skins) the dock when landing.
