As funny as it may sound, but it actually did work, I had bought my power boat friends the Flex seal tape 4"x 5", one buddy ran aground and developed a crack, dove overboard and slapped a patch on. Held all the way to port over 25 miles. I now keep it on my sailer..

Seatow told me that foam rubber pillows work well for slowing large leaks to a manageable size and that most people already have them aboard. Just stuff then into the opening and they will slow the flow enough for the pumps to get a handle on things.
