Deck saloon/Pilot house style sailboats?

Hi everyone,

Long-time lurker, first time poster.

My partner and I have been considering purchasing a sailboat to cruise the Mediterranean, and liveaboard at a marina while visiting family on the coast of France near Nice. I personally cannot see myself spending extensive amounts of time in a traditional monohull with downstairs saloon and galley, and much prefer catamaran comforts and views. However both the price point of a cat, and practicality of cats on the Mediterranean are big turnoffs (my partner can't stand the look of them or sailing them either, he's a traditionalist ).

We've therefor compromised on the the pilot-house/deck saloon style monohull sailboat (not quite motorsailers though!). My dream boat is the Sirius 35DS, absolutely beautiful, intelligently made vessel! Relatively roomy cockpit and decent deck space as well. However I see very few used for sale (only about 15 made a year), and wayyy out of our budget anyway. Do you guys have any recommendations for similar style vessels (30-40feet) - keeping in mind we treat safety and comfort as a priority, performance less so.

We'd like to stay under $150,000 if at all possible.
