Re: Challenger 32 ?

Congratulations!!
They are great boats, if you have troubles with the steering radius add a foot onto the trailing edge of the rudder.

Re: Challenger 32 ?

Hello All. I purchased a Challenger 32 last month and now the third owner of this nearly 50 year old time piece. Was built in 1970 and is #16 off the line. It is spacious, sails nicely, powered by a Westerbeke 40. Believe it is the original motor. Working hobbs meter reads 1570 hours. Needs some TLC. Putting her on the hard next weekend. Plan to refit electrical and plumbing systems. Open to any ideas and suggestions. There's not much info on these classic cruisers. Feel free to reach me at tom.k.kerr@gmail.com. Cheers--TK

Kai - I would love to hear more about the history of the boats. Info is so hard to find. It is all now an oral history from one owner to another.
Hello I also own a 32’ challenger and I’m trying to figure lazy Jack location , says 3/4 of the mast but puts me at the top spreaders any help would be appreciated

Re: Challenger 32 ?

I’m the new owner of a Challenger 35, currently doing a refit to bring her back to life. Ripped-out all of the sole, wiring, plumbing, and headliner. If you’d like to know what’s behind what, and dont want to tear yours apart to find-out... feel free to message me. :-)

Re: Challenger 32 ?

4 years now I've had the title say: 1973 TOD Challenger 32 Wilmington CA. I'm in fla, it had a Perkins not the atomic 4. it was granted a new 2gm20f yanmar inn1983 I rebuilt like a clock. the interior is not like any other sailboat I've seen. under power at 4 kits she is very agile. I think they are 'motor sail' I don't know how many 32 were built? They seem to be a cut above other cruisers. Im keeping her going. she shows her age. westofeden71@yahoo.com
