New hydraulic ram for Raymarine system

Hi,

hoping the hive mind can confirm I can use a competitors drive kit (pump, resevoir and ram), with my Raymarine system. The overworked Type 2 Linear is on its last legs (boat is right on max displacement).

I can get the RM for almost $7k AUD, OR save 2k on garmin or b&g equivalents. 《Rant》 Plus I still haven't got over the 500 dollars for their radar cable (steel boat so no to wifi). Only to find out it is a 50 dollar ethernet cable with 2 unused wires and "special plastic end connectors". Anyway I digress! 《End rant》

The autopilot setup lists a Type 3 Hydraulic, as well as up the top of the list Type 3 Hydraulic linear.

I have a Raymarine AP driving an Octopus Hydraulic Ram.
26k lbs boat.
No problems after 20years.
