Not really sure what you guys are giving mr-canada all the grief for fellas, what gives?

I routinely knock out 250-275 mile days in my J-24. Here's a shot of us making 18 knots off the wind. Super fun!!!!

iv found a blade in anything over 20kts brilliant, though its got to be at least a meter off the deck and the sheeting dead rite. A racing blade can be a deck hugger but a cruising blade should be higher cut(no greenies in the foot of the sail), good for -stay tension is a must and a flat main. To get the best you must sail the swells if going hard to wind -ward, its not easy but rewarding when you get in the groove.

What do you mean by "sail the swells"? Trying to get my little barge to go faster.

My interpretation of a bunch of technical racer stuff:
Don't stuff the boat into waves. Aim for low spots/sail downhill. Try to sail fat/keep wind in the rig/some steadiness in the rig if you can.

I have been following you at the AAC and your opinion counts a lot to me.

I have a Sun Legende 41. I'm about to order a new set of sails. Currently my wife and I will be spending a year or more in the Med, with the future goal is to do a Transatlantic. I have a 130 jib, and a very underpowered main. I was thinking on a short term to get a full batten main, and a high cut Jib Blade (90%).
Further down the road I would propably add furling down gennaker for downwind sailing. You have mentioned using a blade jib before. Did you also add new tracks for it?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
