Head plumbing

G'day folks first post !
I have a Beneteau 41.5 first 1990 and I'm interested to hear any comments regarding head plumbing . The forward head is a Jabsco plunger type and the aft is a Jabsco macerator type both have no loop in the discharge or inlet . The valves are opened and closed after every use and I use a little veg oil to keep the valves lubed. Question should I go to the trouble of installing a vented loop. I am planing a holding tank for the aft head which is the maserator type . Cheers Dave .

I presume there is no holding tank; correct?
A key variable is the height of the rim of the toilet bowl above the waterline when heeled to the max (say a bit of toerail under water).

You may feel comfortable relying on closed seacocks or using the pump as a valve; experience has shown others that this is risky.

What is the height from wateine to the rim of the toilet bowl when heeled?

few of my boats have had a vented loop on the inlet to toilet system. However, it only takes one problem to ruin your day!
