Re: Cleaned Strainer Now HPF

Like I said...do NOT run anything, turn it all OFF...all you need to do is let the water flood the pump head by bleeding the air from any point higher than the pump itself......then seal it up and fire it off, confirm flow overboard.
I do this many dozens of times a year for owners who have recently hauled out and airlocked the ac/refer systems in their boats, or during a strainer and/or pump service.
It's not hard, unless of course it was all installed incorrectly.

Not feeling too comfortable running system with this off but if it’s ok for short time I could

Will try shoving water into outflow also thanks

Just by doing that, assuming the through hull is open,at have moved the air out of the pump.

Hook it back up and turn the unit on and see if it’s pumping water.

Don’t run the unit with this disconnected, you’ll have water everywhere.

Thanks for all the advice
What I ended up doing was taking the inlet off the ac water in and pushing water in that way
Made a mess and had the sea strainer cracked a bit but it ended up working I think in the future I may use a funnel and some water in ordeer to make less of a mess as I have at most 6 feet of tubing

Thanks!
