Description: Man, I would really be nervous flying in to this airport. We watched the pilots dive down over a mountain to make the approach to the tiny runway below.

Good picture. Been in there many times in various airplanes. A place like that is the only fun we pilots have left nowadays.
The locals sit in the airport bar with a Heineken and looks for the next crash, of which there has been many.

Take a look at the Piper Cherokee departing over the water: His wingspan is about 30 feet or so.
He is sligthly less than half a wingspan over the beach, perhaps 10 to 15 feet of altitude/
Which indicates heavy airplane, full of fuel, folks and baggage for a long trip.

He barely made it and don't have much margin for a turn away from terrain. A slight G loading in the turn could set off the stall warning.
So could a wind-gust..Combine the 2 and ya have an airplane crash.

A dangerous situation that was caught on camera.

Been flying in there numerous times as an instructor checking out commercial pilots on twin-engine commuter / air-taxi planes.
Have seen the accidents and would not put good odds on the craft in the above picture.

I was here a decade ago; my first and only bareboat charter, with my wife and another couple. Had left St Maartens (French Side) nudist colony after a riotous New Years Eve, and after trying unsuccessfuly to sleep behind Green Cay. First sobering thing I saw was this strip. Awfully happy to see it again. Thanks. (Not that I yet yearn for sobering sights ;-))
