Do you always wonder if a free sample is actually going to have anything useful? Or if it's just going to tell you over and over that you need to buy the full thing?

Jan (my co-author) and I truly HATE when that happens, so when we asked our publisher to create a sample PDF of The Boat Galley Cookbook, we insisted it had to had useful information that cruisers could use immediately.

And so our sample has 33 boat-friendly recipes and other tips in a 28-page PDF. Sure, we're hoping that it makes you say "I've got to get the rest of this book" but if not, it's still a bunch of information for you without a bunch of marketing hype.

I've been holding out for the iTunes version. Any idea when it will be available?

Hi Mike!

Unfortunately, I don't have an ETA for the Nook and iTunes versions. The answer from our publisher is that they "are tweaking the files" to get them correct and it will be "soon."

Believe me, I understand that it's frustrating! If you've signed up for the sample, you'll get an email when all the electronic versions are available (right now, the Kindle version is available as well as the print version). And, of course, I'll post a notice here when it's available.

Yes, but what's the privacy policy on the free sample? Is IMI going to start sending all sorts of offers? Or selling the email address? And if not, why not just make the sample available for download?

IMI does not get your email.

You'll get a Thank You note from me with a duplicate download link (some people have problems with the immediate download link and I can't figure out what the problem is, so it seemed easiest to send another link), then in three days you'll get a note from me asking how you liked it and a list of places worldwide where you can buy the full book.

The whole point of The Boat Galley is to provide useful information, and there are almost 500 free articles on the site as well as the offer of the free sample of the cookbook. I absolutely do NOT sell email addresses or engage in spamming.
