Erie Canal Opening Data - any updated information?

I'm in Naples FL and contemplating running up the East Coast to get to the Great Lakes - Sandusky OH - but I want to leave now and understand the Erie Canal is NOT open yet. I have heard it's not going to open until June 15 - or maybe later.

Can anyone share any information about the Erie Canal opening - to the Oswego Canal that leads to Lake Ontario?
