Jeanneau Sunkiss 47 - Cape Canaveral, FL

1987 Jeanneau Sunkiss 47 - $70,000.00

WE’RE MOTIVATED, AND NOT LOOKING FOR A “HOME RUN” ON THIS SALE! That said, there’s a lot of boats for sale claiming “ready to cruise”, “perfect liveaboard”, “ready for your circumnavigation”. When we bought “Prelude”, that’s more or less what the listing said. Well, three years later, we’ve learned that “Ready to sail away!” is apparently… subjective. “Prelude” is genuinely ready to roll. We’ve been living aboard and sailing her some 2,000 miles over the last two years as a family of four safely, comfortably, and enjoying an incredible life!

Immediately following our purchase, we spent a year completely refitting the boat. When I say refit, I don’t mean bought some new gadgets. Virtually every system on the boat has been replaced and upgraded with safety, durability, and extensive offshore work in mind. We didn't just replace the components, the installations were meticulously upgraded as per current standards, and in many cases beefed up to accommodate common anecdotal failures.

The boat has a spacious and sensible three cabin layout with storage for days - a rarity for a boat like this. She sleeps eight in three comfortable double cabins and a drop down in the salon, and HAS comfortably entertained twelve for dinner in her spacious salon. Perfect size for a family or couple looking for the room to comfortably host extended stays.

“Prelude” sails like a dream and is a bluewater greyhound. Her brand new genoa and like new mainsail keep her regularly in the high 7s to low 8s in easy air, and in moderate conditions, tapping 10 is a thrill. ALL new running rigging keeps sail handling a breeze, and even single handing this 47’er is relaxing. She’s setup and HONESTLY ready to go.

We’re selling as we’re building a steel boat for higher latitudes and excited for some ice! Her competitive price reflects her age, and while mechanically and structurally solid, she has the common cosmetic issues you’d expect - nothing crazy, she’s just not fresh off the production line.

If you’re looking for a solid, easy handling, and comfortable liveaboard cruiser, this boat is an excellent value and a must see!

Mast Height/Air Draft: 61 feet/18.59 meters
Fuel Tank: Stainless Steel 56 gallons/212 liters
Freshwater Tanks: Stainless Steel 153 gallons/579 liters
Waste Holding Tank: Stainless Steel 30 gallons/114 liters

The equipment list… Like I said, immediately following our purchase, we began a year long complete systems refit. We use this boat in the ocean, and everything we did was based on best known practice, best available equipment, and heavy priority on simplicity, safety, and durability at sea. The result is that EVERYTHING on this boat works, is functional, easy to use, and reliable. She’s not a project, she doesn’t need updating, she has what’s needed and then some, and she’s ready to go. Like… today.

Yes, she's still for sale. AND... she survived Irma untouched. We got lucky there...

Thank you for posting this. We are looking to stay away from linear galleys and prefer something more compact. L shaped or better. She looks like an amazing boat. My wife enjoys cooking too much to want to cook while at sea. I prefer a galley that should could work with easier. Good luck with your sail.

Nice boat. Is that a water stain in the headliner?

Yes. I’m pretty sure it’s from a port that leaked at one time, as there are no water leaks now.

Re: Jeanneau Sunkiss 47 - Cape Canaveral, FL

Unclear, but I had it inspected in May and the rigger said it was in excellent condition. All running rigging is new, and is New England Sta-Set.
