Please help find davits for a 2011 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409
I'd like to get dinghy davits for the stern of my '11 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409. I was quoted $8,000 in North Palm Beach, Florida. That' s a bit excessive. My budget is $3,000 with installation. Is it doable? I'd like something that can raise the dinghy (without the engine is fine, but with the 9.9hp engine would be even better). Right now, it's on the bow and I'm not liking it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I put a pair of Garhauer 1-1/4" Davits on my Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 to hold my fairly heavy Portland Pudgy and they are working very well. The Davits are $1500.00 with 6 to 1 blocks. Installation is easy and should not be expensive if you hire it out.

Thank you, Leo! Did you buy them online? If so, directly from the manufacturer or through a vendor? I wouldn't mind spending even more, if necessary. I could also get help and install them myself if need be.

Garhauer or Martek both in 1.25" ss tubing, both high quality, both online purchases. I have Martek and my dink is a 9' RIB with a 8HP and lifts both with no issues at all and I have a 190W solar panel across the top of the davits as well. Very satisfied.

I did install them myself, I thought it was fairly straight forward. I have sugar scoop transom like yours as well.

That's before the solar panel addition. I added the triangular bracing on the top tubes of the davits and used 3" delrin at the base/mounting plate for spacing to make the vertical legs vertical. Other than those additions it's box stock.

I will second the Martek 600 davits. Excellent product and fantastic people to deal with.

I ordered them from Garhauer. I've bought several things from them in the past and the quality has always been first rate, so I did not hesitate to get the davits from them.
The 1" set is only slightly cheaper than the 1 1/4", and I recommend the heavier ones. Installation is very easy; just attach the clamps to the rail, then measure and attach the bottom supports. They also include a couple of vertical tubes to strengthen the whole affair. I did hire my usual guy to help, but we could have easily done it ourselves.
Fair winds,
Leo
