Damien 2, 52' Steel hull schooner w/ lifting keel or similar

Hello all,

I am in the market for a Michel Joubert, Damien 2, 52' Steel hull schooner w/ lifting keel or very similar sailboat. I know there are not many of these boats around but I thought I would try a post here and see what happens.

Please let me know if you have or if you know of one for sale.

Thanks in advance Dale

"Philos" is available in Norway.
Well proven and extremely well setup for expedition work.
Call the broker; Tony Webster in Australia 0427566700. He is a really good bloke and has done many sea miles on Philos
Check his website: www.webstermarine.com.au

I am already communicating with Tony on PHILOS.

Trying to root out any others might be for sale that are not on the interweb.

Thanks, Dale

Re: Looking for steel/Alu sailboat w/ lifting keel

I had to put the brakes on my purchase plans for a while but am seriously looking again. I have adjusted my thinking and would look at boats from 36' to 53', steel/Alu sailboat w/ lifting keel.

Preferably in North America. I would look at pilot house models as well.

Thank, Dale

Thanks, I have seen it there for the last few years as well. I think at that price it will be there for a while longer.

Something tells me I have seen this boat with a lower price recently.

You know NL has been under pretty strick lockdown with very few coming and going? I would not worry to much about the advertised price. If the boat suited me then make an offer you feel comfortable with. Then it will or will not work out.

That particular boat does not interest me. I think it belongs to a non profit and maybe they are waiting for a rich guy to shower money upon them for a tax right off..... just a thought.

I like that design but couldn’t live with that interior.

But thanks for the tip !

Re: Damien 2, 52' Steel hull schooner w/ lifting keel or similar

You are welcome. I was not terribly impressed either and I think you are correct about the non-profit being an owner.

I also saw Philos when hauled. The long extension was interesting. And the condition was a bit questionable. Arctic Tern was not so bad by comparison, outside only.

I am not looking, but I like to look.

Not a whole lot of boats meet your requirements.
