Bringing Cat by plane Martinique

hello,

do you know how to import cat from European Union Country to Martinique? what do I need?Which kind of papers? It was really complicated to take my cat from Poland to Trinidad that's way I decided to try to do it to Martinique.
I would be really grateful for your help!

Re: Bringing Cat by plane Martinique

As Martinique is a Departement Outre Mer of France and consider a part of metropolitan France there is no importation if you sail from France to Martinique. Technically it is a domestic sail in the same way the flight from Paris to Martinique is a domestic flight.

So if you are an EU flagged boat sailing from the EU to Martinique you are technically doing an EU passage. As long as you have all your paperwork in place there will be no issues when you arrive. This also applies for Guadaloupe, also a DOM.

However once you leave Martinique you will still be subject to all the usual customs regulations you find outwith the EU

Thank you for your answer. There is a lot of strange information on the internet, and after problems with importing a cat to trinidad, I prefer the clarity of the information. Anyway, thanks for the info!

The other “European” island is St Martin, half French half Dutch, both EU countries. Take your pick.

EU Pet passport, cat to be microchiped, and usual jabs and inoculation, go to your nearest vet in Poland for the documentation, get an EU passport and you will have no problems in the French/ Dutch Islands in the Caribbean , but forget the UK dependant islands unless you follow different set of rules
My 2 Muts have Greek Passports as they were rescued and flown over to UK and my last Mut had a UK passport, so no problems for a Polish cat

Re: Bringing Cat by plane Martinique

You may find useful to read French Customs Regulation about importing a boat to Martinique or Guadeloupe.
Quite clear but unfortunately, it is in French:

Let me know if I can help translating the main points.

You need to tell us whether you mean a pussy-cat or a multihull :-)

I think the airline is going to charge an extra baggage fee for that.
